Gone Too Soon
You were there with us, and then you were not
Your life was called too soon. It was not in the plot
You had the bloom of youth steadfast in your eye
We look at your pictures and try not to cry
We knew you when our lives were so new
We can only regret that we knew you so few
years that swiftly flew and took you away
We truly are sad that you just couldn't stay
But our own lives are richer for having loved you in the past
We all know in our hearts that most things cannot last
But the class of 73 will never forget you dear friends
For we all will meet again when our own lives shall end
So here is to classmates who left us too soon
We will see each of you smiling in the stars and the moon
